  1. Introduction to tensor spaces (algebraic and topological)
  2. R-term representation and PDE with stochastic coefficients
  3. Tensor subspace format and hybrid format
  4. Hierarchical format, HOSVD bases, TT format and quantum chemistry applications
  5. Multivariate cross approximation, tensorisation, ODE and Dirac-Frenkel discretisation, and propoerties of the HOSVD truncation

Biography:

Prof.Wolfgang Hackbusch is a world leading mathematician, known for his pioneering research in many different fields such as multigrid methods and hierarchical matrices. He is a foundingmember of the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and also served as director of the Max Planck Institute for Mathematics in the Sciences in Leipzig. He has won many prestigious awards andrecognitions, including 1994 Gottfried WilhelmLeibniz Prize, 1996 Brouwer Medal, 1998 Plenary Speakerof the International Congress of Mathematicians, and 2020 Heinz Gumin Prize for Mathematics. He was also a Plenary Speaker at the International Congress of Mathematicians in 1998 .
